EcoCart and UpDown Desk - Carbon Offset

At UpDown Desk we value having a healthy and productive workspace. We also recognise that we want to maintain a healthy and safe environment. As part of this we offer recycled timber desktop options as well as many desktops that have been sustainably grown and harvested. We also try to optimise our packaging to reduce excess waste.

As part of our efforts to be friendly to the environment we offer customers the option of a carbon offset at checkout. To do this we have partnered with EcoCart which supports a range of projects that benefit the environment. 100% of the carbon offset charge goes to supporting EcoCart's projects. 

The below is what selecting a carbon offset at checkout looks like. There is a slider that can be toggled from off (default) to on if you want to add the carbon offset to your cart.

The project we are currently supporting is EcoCart's Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor. 

This project works to link small patches of remnant vegetation and nature reserves in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor in Southwest Australia. The impact of this includes:

• 30 million mixed native species of trees and shrubs planted
• 1.059 million tons of carbon sequestered over 50 years
• Employment and training opportunities for local people, contribution to local business, and positive engagement with indigenous communities
• Captures carbon while providing crucial habitat for thousands of species of unique wildlife
• Partnerships with 11 local and national organisations
