Twin castor wheels are two wheels together that allow for movement of a desk to which they are attached. Good castor wheels will be stable and may have a locking mechanism when the desk is not being moved.
A castor wheel is a wheel with a bracket. Many castor wheels are designed with a swivel which allows the caster to rotate 360 degrees while under load. This improves the maneouverability of the castor wheels.
The maximum load of castor wheels varies depending on the quality of the castor wheel and the materials it is made from. A typical maximum load capacity per twin wheel in 70kg.
A wheel is limited in that it spins on a single axis. It can only roll in one direction. A castor includes a mounting system that holds the wheel in place. Some castors will swivel and others are fixed.
Correctly installed castor wheels should not wobble excessively. If the castor wheels do wobble a lot then there may be a problem such as for swivel castors that the swivel section is too loose, the castor is mounted incorrectly or the castor legs have been bent, the castor wheels are being moved too quickly, or the load is not balanced.
